Greenspring Montessori School has been offering a Montessori education to students for over 60 years. Nestled on a 7-acre property that was originally a dairy farm, students ages 18 months through grade 8 thrive in our newly renovated buildings, state of the art Montessori classrooms, and rich outdoor learning environments.

Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a full-time Children’s House Classroom Assistant for the 2023/24 school year. The right candidate is a loving, experienced, and mature leader interested in supporting children ages 3-6 years in an authentic Montessori Environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare the classroom environment
• Manage the "flow" of the classroom
• Support children in their own resolution of conflicts and concerns
• Be a role model for children in speech, tone, demeanor, and actions
• Serve as a record keeper of the work children are engaged in and children's social interactions
• Help set up for nap and lunch
• Supervise recess
• Support dismissal
• Assist with cleaning
• Serve the needs of the children and community

POSITION DETAILS

This is a 10-month, full-time position (mid-August through mid-June). The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Benefits for full-time employees include health, dental, paid sick days and holidays, and partial tuition remission for qualified dependents. Summer opportunities are also available.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Pass a background check
• Have previous experience with preschoolers

Preferred:

• OCC qualifications for preschoolers

Authorization to work in the United States is a pre-condition of employment at Greenspring Montessori School.
