Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining stationary engine and mechanical equipment, such as compressors, generators and steam boilers to provide for utilities such as light, heat and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services for the hospital. This position has exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, high heat and exposure to burns. This position spends the majority of time walking and standing (up to 40% of work time).

Licenses/Certifications Required Boiler Operators License

Specific Educational and Skill Competencies Required Good communication skills and analytical skills, as usually demonstrated by successful completion of high school studies, is required. Good working knowledge of stationary engines and mechanical equipment, as normally acquired through obtainment of boiler’s license, HVACR license and at least one year of work experience in DDC controls is preferred. Three to five years work experience in plant operations is also preferred.
