The Philanthropy Officer, is a key member of the Development team helping to raise the organization’s $5M Building Joy Campaign + Annual Fund and major gifts for other special initiatives and projects. The Philanthropy Coordinator will be at the forefront of stewarding and growing key partnerships, as well as identifying new partners in alignment with Oakwood Creative Care's organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Actively manage a portfolio of 150+ key donors and prospects with a strong capacity and affinity to support the OCC Programs.

  • Raise a minimum of $500,000 in unrestricted funding toward the Annual Fund goal with a focus on donor retention and growth.
  • Create, execute, and evaluate a personal fundraising plan for their portfolio and refresh it annually.
  • Engage donors in meetings; with an expectation to hold 5+ donor meetings per week in person and/or via phone/video conference.
  • Complete meetings notes to plan strategy and capture notes and next steps in Bloomerang.
  • Responsible for supporting
  • OCC's planned giving initiative, including but not limited to the promotion of planned giving opportunities, sharing expertise and knowledge with the Development team, and the identification, solicitation, and cultivation of prospective and current planned giving donors.
  • Collaborate with Creative Director, Presdient & CEO, Board of Directors, and consultant to support fundraising activities, meeting preparation, etc.
  • Work collaboratively within the Department to develop and refine donor giving circle programs and ensure benefits for the donors in their portfolio are delivered.
  • Work with the Director of Individual to incorporate strategies using influencers from the Development Committee, Board of Trustees, and other volunteers.
  • Meet regularly with Creative Director, President and CEO and Consultant to create plans, manage goals, and execute objectives.
  • Serve as spokesperson for the organization through public speaking, Club/Hub events, networking events, board of directors and donor meetings.
  • Demonstrate and communicate OCC's philosophy, objectives, standards, and programs through all methods available to members, their parents, and the general public. Provide quality program activities that are inclusive, welcoming, respectful, and responsive to the diversity of members, families, and community.

Education and/or Certification Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Skills and Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience in a nonprofit or sales environment, specifically with experience with personal solicitations and/or direct involvement with annual fundraising.

  • Demonstrated successful experience in securing major gifts and developing strong relationships with donors.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Technology and computer literacy is essential. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Google Drive, GiveButter and Bloomerang is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated professional with an understanding and knowledge of trends in individual giving and insight into donor motivations. Applicants should be able to think and act independently and creatively to significantly broaden the organization’s relationships with individual donors and have the ability to work with colleagues across the organization, including executive staff and Board of Trustee members, and to establish and foster relationships that encourage a collaborative work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and meet State required automobile insurance minimums.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
