PCA (Personal Care Attendant)
Job description
As a Personal Care Attendant, you will be helping people with disabilities to become as independent as possible and live a fulfilling life. You will assist people with daily activities (e.g. bathing and dressing). Personal Care Attendants should have a genuine interest in helping others and be willing to work with people of all ages, races, religions and backgrounds. We’re looking for compassionate and flexible individuals who want to develop meaningful relationships by improving health and wellness. You should have good verbal communication skills and the ability to calmly handle stressful situations. Ultimately, the goal is to provide our clients with excellent assistance in the activities of daily living.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report on the physical and emotional health of the individual.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, like laundry, ironing, dusting etc. and do grocery shopping.
- Help the individual with personal hygiene requirements (changing clothes, brushing teeth etc.).
- Prepare meals for the individual and ensure that all dietary requirements are met.
- Assist with daily tasks/activities, like personal upkeep activities & completing forms.
- Monitor health of individual and be alert to changes in behavior or symptoms of illness.
- Schedule Appointments and Transportation.
- Take part in recreational activities with the individual.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.50 per hour
