UW Medicine is comprised of UW Medical Center-Montlake and Northwest, Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, UW School of Medicine, and UW Physicians Network. PATIENT ACCESS BUSINESSS OPERATIONS is responsible for project development and implementations of new systems and tools as well as ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure of Patient Financial Access applications which support these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care, research and teaching.
The PATIENT ACCESS BUSINESSS OPERATIONS COMPUTER SPECIALIST works collaboratively with the IT teams in initial build and subsequent changes to the systems and tools with the Computer Specialist taking responsibility for testing and validating the changes made by IT for IT supported applications and tools. This position holds major responsibility to ensure appropriate use of a multi-million-dollar UW Medicine investment. In conjunction, responsible for the proper use of this system to identify and improve flow of critical patient and patient revenue information. Ensure HIPAA privacy practices are enforced and adhered to by all authorized users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The development, build, enhancement, and maintenance of the department Share Point portal and sub-sites. Share Point gatekeeping and access control, user access support, access audits ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Support department-managed file storage locations. Support and manage PFAS Department computing spaces. Manage user accounts and access related to Domain Users, Share Point User Groups, and other Active Directory groups. Request MS Team channels, manage memberships and provide training and technical support to teams. Create and update internal department end-user Shared Drive and Access Control documentation.
Manage inventory, asset management, and disposal of all equipment and data to include PCs, AiOs, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, Pagers, Telephone systems, and all other department technical equipment and equipment accessories. Request purchase of, ship, and maintain inventory log of all AiO and laptop systems deployed to Telework employees. Provide AiO desktop and laptop computers set-up support for remote workers, acts as liaison between PFAS staff and ITS department staff for all computing software trouble shooting and access issues. Create and update internal department end-user Share Point documentation.
Request purchase of software, and licensing via department practices, maintain computer software and licensing assignment and purchase logs. Provide training and technical support for video conferencing spaces such as MS Teams and Zoom. Provide technical training to faculty and staff as needed. Create and update internal department end-user support documentation as needed.

Position is primarily a Telework positions but does require personal transportation for quick access to multiple sites, including all medical centers and UW Medicine Services as support is needed.
Based on operational need, position may work varying hours to include evenings and weekends.
