Job Summary
1. Provide oversight of all GVMCS spiritual care activities at hospitals, standalone emergency rooms and outpatient centers.
2. Coordinate SS through employed staff, CPE students and volunteers.
3. Coordinate CPE student precept, clinical work and learning, and mission integration.
4. Staff Chaplain for clinical care to patients, families, leaders, physicians, staff, CPE students and volunteers.

Essential Functions
- Multi-campus oversite of all day to day operations and clinical schedule
- Provide the Network Director of SS with input pertaining to performance evaluations of staff
- Budgetary oversight for SS
- Development and facilitation of plans to nurture a culture of engagement for physicians, healthcare associates, volunteers, guests and community
- Prioritize personal daily clinical chaplain care to patients, and guest by rounding, responding to pages, requests and referrals in a timely manner
- Have professional interactions, visits and counseling with patients, family, volunteers, staff and leaders
- Participate in departmental on-call rotation for emergencies and crises as needed
- Coordinate support groups for bereavement care and other patient/family centered services
- Coordinate Creative design for growth and oversight for spiritual care programs
- Coordinate worship, seasonal chapel services and memorial services for patients and their families
- Collaborate with SS staff on the clinical assignments and clinical schedule.
- Daily delegation and direction to the SS, CPE student and volunteers
- Leadership representation of SS department and CPE to GVMS
- Serve as or delegate a Preceptor Clinical Lead for clinical and professional instruction of CPE students
- Assist the Network Director of Mission and Ministry mission integration
- Orientation for all newly hired Chaplains and CPE students
- Faith Community Care Partnership with faith groups to promote community health support, and wellness
- All other duties as directed by Network Director of Spiritual Service
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Masters of Divinity (Or equivalent in theology, or pastoral care and counseling)

Minimum Work Experience
- Work as a hospital Chaplain (preferred);
- Work as Clinical Pastoral Education Educator preferred
Required Licenses
- Ordination (or other ministerial credential) by faith group
- Ecclesiastical endorsement by faith group
- Board Certified Chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains (or equivalent spiritual care organization) preferred
