The Partner Development Manager is responsible for managing the supplier application and review process for, Destinations & Experiences, Cruise and Alliance prospects.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage RFI/Application process for Destinations and Experiences, cruise lines and Alliances
- Review applications.
- Analyze market data to strategically forecast new destinations and proactively recruit new partners.
- Creation of a service-oriented process to ensure candidates are respected through the application process, whether approved or denied.
- Identify critical process path issues regarding supplier selection.
- Manage suppliers in the group for suppliers not appropriate for the quality of Virtuoso member needs, over-saturation in markets and other criteria intended to keep product standards high.
- Manage all processes related to applications and qualification of supplier prospects using Zoho. Continuously review and evaluate application process to ensure best in class process.
- Respond to requests for information (RFI’s), analyze these RFI’s for potential supplier application and manage the application and reference request process.
- Notification of those applicants/potential applicants not suitable for preferred partner status.
- Interact closely with Destinations & Experiences, Cruise, Alliances and Operations teams on product need and requirements.
- Meetings/sales presentations with prospective supplier representatives.
- Represent Virtuoso at industry trade shows and solicit suppliers based on program need.
- Effective verbal communication skills to ensure a good understanding by all participants in the areas of planning, development, and implementation of the events.
- Participate in meetings with questions, input, and status updates.
- Work weekends and evenings during peak periods.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Understanding of web-based technology
- Complete knowledge of RFP processes
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline driven environment
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Travel related experience a plus
Type/Nature of Contacts:
- External: Daily contact with members and suppliers.
- Internal: Daily contact with Virtuoso staff.
Travel Requirements:
- Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events. (1-3 trips per year)
- Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.
