Part Time Sales Associate
Job description
As a representative of the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the Part-time Sales Associate must provide a positive, helpful, and pleasant experience to all visitors. Customer Service is the highest priority. Work schedules include weekends, holidays, and special Liturgical events.
Consistently delivers superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills to meet or exceed customer expectations. Accurately ring and tender sale on point-of-sale system. Provide coverage for Lead Sales Associate during days off (full 8-hour shift), lunchtime and/or breaks. Exercise an in-depth knowledge of Catholic faith, and devotional practices as they relate to merchandise. Inventory management and stockroom maintenance. Assist in-store shoppers, answer phone inquiries, including booking tour groups. Responsible for capturing complete customer information at check out and inviting customers to join our email subscription. Participate in Mission San Gabriel Arcángel related special events where Gift Shop items may be sold. Assist with design and implementation of merchandising displays, maintaining merchandise display in a neat, organized, and appealing manner. Assist with changing displays to promote new products or seasonal themes. Assist with clerical duties as needed.
Requirements
Education and Experience
High School diploma/G.E.D. (Some college preferred)
1-2 years’ experience in Retail, customer service
Accurate cash handling and point of sale system operating experience.
Knowledge of Catholic faith and practices and devotional religious items
General Requirements & Skills
Excellent Communication Skills.
Basic knowledge of current word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Exercise time management skills and meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Availability to work flexible schedules including day shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.
Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
