Part-time Facility Manager

Outreach Carol Stream
Outreach Carol Stream is a multi-purpose, neighborhood resource center serving a low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhood. Services include counseling, casework, community development, services for older adults and after-school and summer programs for children and youth.

Job Responsibilities:

The Facility Manager is part of a 22-member staff team and advances Outreach’s mission by ensuring that programs and services are offered in hospitable, safe and clean spaces. Responsibilities include managing all facility maintenance, repairs and general facility operations for the 24,000+ square foot building and the surrounding grounds. Specific responsibilities include day to day maintenance, health, fire and building code compliance, janitorial services, supply purchasing, budget management, oversight and maintenance of agency–owned vehicles, and providing training and supervision of facility volunteers and employment training program participants. This position works closely with the Executive Director and reports to the Office Manager.

Requirements:

A passion for the mission of Outreach; at least 3-4 years of experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, and/or mechanical repairs and basic training in janitorial duties. Previous facility management experience required. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel) and strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work with vendors and manage projects. Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. High degree of responsibility and planned decision making. A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission & Faith. Previous volunteer supervision preferred.

Status:

Part-time. 20-24 hours/week. Monday – Friday with daytime hours.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position falls between $20 and $24 based on skills and experience.
