Mustang Parks and Recreation
JOB TITLE: Front Desk Attendant
SALARY: $8.00-$8.50/HR
HOURS: Part time; flexible hours (days, evenings and weekends)
Purpose of Position: This is a non-exempt position in the Parks and Recreation Department that will assist in day-to-day operations of the Recreation Center. This position is responsible for greeting and checking members into the gym, answering and directing calls, and helping to maintain the cleanliness of the facility.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to Facility Supervisor
Essential Duties:
  • Maintain a strong dedication to high quality customer service.
  • Create a friendly and positive first impression with general public through a professional demeanor including dress, and personal grooming.
  • Greet and welcome customers. Give tours of facility. Assist with check in and answer question.
  • Promote facility passes and programs, processing sales and payments.
  • Answer phone calls provide information and refer to the appropriate personnel.
  • Be knowledgeable and provide information about all Mustang Parks and Recreation facilities, parks and programs. Know where to find additional information and who to refer customer to for more information.
  • Promote and process rental of spaces in the Conference Center. Assist, answer questions and address any issues with daily rentals. Alert supervisor to any issues.
  • Enforce all safety rules, policies, and regulations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with issue, questions and problems.
  • Remain calm and assist with handling emergency situations and first aid as needed.
  • Assist with upkeep, maintenance and daily cleaning of Recreation Center.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude and reflect that attitude in all relationships with the public.
  • Keep supervisor posted about any issues or concerns. Ask for assistance as needed.
  • Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Training and Experience
    • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
    • Possess excellent customer service and communication skills in stressful situation.
    • Able to connect with customers and communicate in a positive manner.
    • Basic knowledge of record keeping and the ability to make proper change.
    • Communicate professionally through oral and written communication.
    • Ability to use a computerized database, including searching, locating and inputting information.
  • License and Certificates
    • Possess and maintain American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or equivalent) within three months of employment.
    • Possess and maintain workplace harassment training and blood borne pathogen training within three months of employment.
  • Work Environment
    • Work primarily indoors.
    • Available to work nights and weekends.
    • Professional appearance required.
    • May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds and stock supplies.
