Paint Booth Operator
Job description
Scope: Perform duties on the Paint line in accordance with Harper Trucks’ quality and safety program. Ensure machines are running to standard and producing quality products. Inspect, Hang, Paint, and remove handtrucks according to job instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a Safe work environment and wear proper PPE
- Inspect product prior to Hanging, after painting, and prior to stacking for quality
- Record part name and count on hang sheet
- Ensure the washer and dryer are on if the line is running and off if the line is stopped
- If necessary blow off excess water when coming out of washer
- Spot paint when needed
- Vacuum paint off axles as needed
- Safely remove and stack parts properly
- Works to maintain and improve work area/plant Safety issues
- Maintain and improve work area cleanliness and organization.
- Make sure that all equipment is clean and working correctly. Report any defective or unsafe machines to the lead and/or supervisor
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to work overtime as needed, including 6 days per week.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Paint line experience (preferred)
Skills
- Good attendance and performance work history.
- Be professional at all times
- Work with management to resolve production issues
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
- Motivated self-starter that is able to work productively alone and in groups to solve problems.
- Work with all team members to meet common goals.
- Proficient in English (Reading, writing, and verbal skills).
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled.
- Able to work on your feet 80% of the shift.
- Constantly uses wrists, hands, and/or fingers to adjust equipment
- Constantly adjust or moves objects up to 5 pounds
- Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools
- Occasionally noisy environments
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
