POSITION OVERVIEW
As our Packer, this individual will report to our Operations Manager and will have overall responsibility for for ensuring the safe, proper and accurate packing and labeling of ELSCO products for storage and shipment to customers in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Package finished products for safe and accurate shipping. Complete all required paperwork.
- Use hand and power tools to adjust and produce sub-assemblies and final assemblies as needed
- Maintains a clean, safe, organized work station
- Safely operates the forklift and pallet jack to pull materials, replentish buffer order stock and fulfil outgoing orders
- Perform other duties as needed.
JOB QUALIFICIATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Background and Skills Required:
- H.S. Diploma or equivlent course work
- 2 years related packing/shipping experience
- Basic data entry and computer skills
- Ability to use hand/power tools
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs repetitively and up to 70 lbs. with lift assistance
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day and work an alternate shift as required.
Additional Background and Skills Preferred:
- Related work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Fed Ex & UPS Processing
- Electric Pallet Jack/Forklift Experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent Standing up to 75% of the time
- Lifting 35-50 pounds repetitively
- Repetitive wrist motion is used100% of the time
- Walking is required up to 25% of the time
- Speaking to others is required 75% of the time
- Hearing co-workers and machinery is required up to 75% of the time
