SUMMARY:
As our Operations Manager you will be responsible for safely managing steel processing operations, maximizing equipment usage, increasing labor productivity, and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives. This position will oversee all aspects of plant operations including equipment, facility, maintenance, inventory, and shipping/receiving. This person functions as a key member of division leadership and interacts with various departments, vendors, external customers and reports to the General Manager. This is a hands on Manager opportunity.

SUMMARY:
As our Operations Manager you will be responsible for safely managing steel processing operations, maximizing equipment usage, increasing labor productivity, and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives. This position will oversee all aspects of plant operations including equipment, facility, maintenance, inventory, and shipping/receiving. This person functions as a key member of division leadership and interacts with various departments, vendors, external customers and reports to the General Manager. This is a hands on Manager opportunity.
MUST HAVES:
- OSHA
- DOT regulations/ requirements.
- Mechanically inclined using hand/power tools to do high level troubleshooting.
- Stainless steel or alloy background
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee logistics, supply chain, and equipment.
- Actively promote professional development of team and key employees
- Ensure safety regulations and policy procedures are followed and enforced by all team members.
- Conduct weekly 6S walks, document and report Near Miss incidents, and Poke Yoke submission for process improvement.
- Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries OSHA Standards.
- Review operations and confer with sales or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
- Oversees manufacturing operations for machine operators and warehouse personnel.
- Meet productivity, cost and quality targets stated in the fiscal plan.
- Manage budgets or approve expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years management experience in metal manufacturing
- Degree in Business Management or Engineering preferred
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, ISO, and quality management systems
- Skilled in formulating policy and developing/implementing new strategies and procedures
- Knowledge of logistics, routing trucks and DOT regulations
- Knowledge of engineering processes, inventory management, and customer service
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
