Onboarding Credentialing Specialist, Jefferson - Center City
Job description
Under the leadership of the AVP of Provider Onboarding & Network Integration, as well as the Manager for the Enterprise Onboarding Office (EOO), the Analyst will support the timely completion, standardization and maintenance of Jefferson Health’s provider onboarding process, which is critical to the administrative management and growth of Jefferson Health’s clinical enterprise. The Analyst will be part of the EOO, a new office within TO CONFIRM, and which will be responsible for ensuring all providers are fully onboarding by their expected start date, and the continuous monitoring the onboarding status of incoming employed clinical providers. The Analyst will engage with a wide-range of stakeholders and offices, including colleagues responsible for provider credentialing, enrollment, faculty affairs, EPIC, scheduling, compliance, human resources and departmental leadership. Support provided by the Analyst will include:
- Tracking the status of provider credentialing across multiple offices, which will require regular and consistent follow-up with colleagues within Thomas Jefferson University’s Faculty Affairs Office, Jefferson Health’s Medical Staff Offices, as well as the JeffCare and Enrollment teams.
- Collaborates and advocates effectively with multi-disciplinary team of colleagues and third-party stakeholders.
- Maintaining and providing regular reports on the status of onboarding providers for partner offices, which may include the Jefferson Medical Group (JMG), Divisional medical staff leaders at each of Jefferson Health’s 6 Divisions—including Abington Jefferson Health, Jefferson Northeast, Jefferson New Jersey, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Einstein Health—as well as senior leaders within Payor Enrollments, Payor Contracting, University Counsel, Human Resources.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The ideal candidate for the position will excel with communication and relationship building, and is comfortable working in high-pressure environments and meeting hard-deadlines. The position requires regular communication and engagement with key stakeholders on initiatives critical to optimizing and improving the provider onboarding and credentialing experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Relationship Building & Enterprise Coordination
- Establish and enhance relationships and communication between EOO and local Medical Staff Offices throughout the Jefferson Health Enterprise.
- Develop communication channels between EOO and relevant stakeholders—including Division, Service Line and Departmental Leaders—to ensure timely communication and status updates of provider credentialing and onboarding.
- Assist in the development of a standardized provider onboarding process that can be effectively tracked and communicated within KPIs and dashboards that will be shared with offices across Jefferson Health.
- Provide regular reports on work flow standardization, improvement plans and relevant performance metrics.
- Maintain relevant provider data in onboarding tracker tools and regularly distribute updates to inquiring parties.
- Bachelor’s degree in health care management or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully developing team members, building relationships with critical stakeholders and creating a successful team environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:
- CPCS certification is strongly preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Work with large multidisciplinary teams in balancing the operational needs and resources of a various stakeholders while defining a vision that aligns with an organizations mission and positively impacts multiple offices.
- General knowledge of relevant data platforms, including (but not limited to) Epic, PeopleSoft and Cactus.
- Experience in MDM systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience and proficient use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams) and performance reporting tools in a fast-paced environment are essential.
