The Student Transition Associate Residency candidate, working under the supervision of a Registered nurse, and the California Nurse Practice Act as well as evidence-based standards of care, to provide basic care to patients and assist professional nurses with compiles patient care up to the validated level of training

Required: Enrolled full time in an accredited ADN, BSN , or direct entry MSN program; Have completed their first semester of an ADN, BSN or direct entry MSN program

Required: Submit a copy of most recent transcript; GPA of 3.0 or higher required

Required: American Heart Association BLS

Required: Submit 1 professional reference letter

Essential Responsibilities
-
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
-
Adheres to the evidence-based standards of care and standards of practice, policies and procedures of the hospital and the Department of Nursing.
-
Provide safe, effective patient care including but not limited to ADLs, mobility and safety concerns.
-
Assist patients with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, feeding, elimination, positioning and bed linen changes.
-
Assists with admitting, discharging, transferring and transporting patients.
-
Obtains and accurately documents pertinent patient information including but not limited to vital signs, weights, Inputs and Outputs, oxygen saturation, care observation and reports all abnormalities to the RN in a timely manner.
-
In a courteous manner instructs patients in various basic procedures and communicated effectively with the patient and family members. Provides encouragement, support and comfort to patients and family members.

Monitors, records and communicates patient condition utilizing computerized documentation.
-
Provides age and culturally appropriate care.
-
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
-
Prioritize tasks and job assignments.
-
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
-
To research and coordinate information and distribute accordingly.
-
Understands the various procedures within the department.
-
Maintain and foster a collaborative relationship with peers.
-
Maintain enrollment in a nursing program.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
