Courier Express is currently looking for individuals in the Middletown area who are reliable, responsible, and have excellent communication skills to be an integral part of our team and assist with our growth plans.

Our team has been providing delivery & logistics solutions across the New England area from our terminal in Springfield, MA since 1993. Here are the specifics about the positions we currently have available:

• Hours are : Mon/Wed/Fri 3:30am - 11a.m. / 12 p.m. & Tue/Thu. 5:30 a.m. to 11a.m. / 12 p.m..
• Some days you may be asked to return for special deliveries after you’ve completed the regular deliveries.
• Picking up and delivery of laundry/linens (clean & soiled in large carts), medical equipment and supplies to hospitals, labs, clinics, doctor's offices and other medical facilities

Requirements

• 1 year or more of professionally driving a 26' BOX/STRAIGHT TRUCK or have graduated from a certified truck driving school
• Must pass background check and have clean driving record
• Must pass drug screening that includes testing for marijuana (Federal/DOT requirement)
• Must have received COVID vaccination and all boosters, or willing to get before starting work
• Must have current DOT Medical Certificate/Card, or be willing to obtain
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Have basic operational knowledge of smart devices: phones, tablets, GPS, Bluetooth
• Must be at least 23 years old
• Ability to lift to 70+ lbs. of large and irregularly shaped packages (proper equipment is provided for assistance)

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a 26' box truck and maneuvering into loading or unloading positions
• Following detailed instructions
• Keeping an accurate ELD logbook: documenting and logging work hours, rest periods, mileage and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Loading and unloading freight to/from truck using lift-gate, pallet jack and/or hand truck
• Securing loads with use of blankets, load bars & straps
• Completing inside deliveries to a specified location or locations at each delivery site
• Collecting and verifying proof of delivery
