This role will be responsible for supervising the Motor Vehicle Agent staff in Emissions.
- Monday - Friday
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- First shift (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Location: Wethersfield, CT

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Plans unit workflow and determines priorities; schedules, assigns, oversees, and reviews work; establishes and maintains unit procedures; provides staff training and assistance; conducts or assists in conducting performance evaluations; acts as liaison with operating units, agencies, and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures; reviews and evaluates courtesy and attitude toward the public; keeps records and submits pertinent reports; interprets motor vehicle laws and regulations for the public; may make public presentations; performs related duties as required.
BRANCH OPERATIONS: Assigns, reviews, and participates in administration of motor vehicle operator license examinations, safety inspections of motor vehicles, and regulation of commercial and secondary driving school functions.
EMISSIONS: Assigns, reviews, and participates in administration of the waiver processing function, contractor monitoring, and customer service activities within the emissions inspection program.
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SAFETY DIVISION (CVSD): Assigns, reviews, and participates in the safety inspections of all types of motor vehicles, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verifications, and researching and resolving complex customer service issues.

2. Graduation from an accredited vocational technical school specializing in automotive mechanical repairs may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with customer service and resolving complaints
- Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with federal and state laws pertaining to motor vehicles and emissions testing
- Experience supervising and leading staff
- Experience with vehicle inspection and repair methods of emissions control systems
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
2. At the time of appointment incumbents must also possess, and during the course of employment maintain, a motor vehicle driving record satisfactory to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.
