Guardian Mortgage, a division of Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Mortgage Default Specialist in Plano, TX. The Mortgage Default Specialist ensures the maximum number of financially distressed customers return from delinquency and minimizes financial losses for investors in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.

• Manage loss mitigation programs for investors (e.g., Federal Housing Authority, Veterans Administration, GSEs, secondary market, etc.). Minimize financial losses for investors.
• Work with financially distressed clients to find acceptable solutions to their payment issues, when possible. Prepare for further collection activity, as required.
• Review documents and procedures (e.g., real estate contracts, HUD-1s, underwriting, etc.) and apply investor guidelines, title policies, endorsements, etc. Track changes in Investor Policy.
• Generate reports for governments, investors, and other appropriate third parties in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.
• Communicate and coordinate with appropriate business partners and third parties (e.g., attorneys, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, title companies, etc.). Communicate with clients in a timely, accurate and compliant manner.
• Assist in the processing and monitoring of the foreclosure portfolio in 40+ States.
• Assist in the processing and monitoring of the bankruptcy portfolio.
• Assist in the processing and monitoring of litigation, subpoenas, title issues, credit corrections and consumer complaints.
• Meet ongoing deadlines regarding solicitations, first reviews, subsequent reviews, correspondence, etc.
• Meet rules, obligations, timelines, and deadlines to comply with company policy, contracts, investor guidelines, lending programs, and state and federal law and regulation.
• Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
• Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.

Education / Experience Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the position preferred or equivalent experience.
• Must possess knowledge of Investor Loss Mitigation Programs (i.e. FHA, Fannie, Freddie, MPF, VA, USDA).
• Must have experience and possess knowledge in the following fields: Foreclosure; Bankruptcy; Litigation; Qualified Written Requests; Release of Liability/Assumptions; Probate; Easement/Partial Release; and Subpoenas.
• Must possess real estate and legal documentation knowledge.
• Must possess knowledge of CFPB Collection guidelines.
• Must possess strong verbal, written, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Must possess professional written and verbal qualities.
• Knowledge of LSAMS and TEMPO platform preferred.
• Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to present alternatives to management in resolving issues.
