Job Summary:
The Merchant Services Sales Representative identifies and services new commercial customers, developing and solidifying relationships with existing commercial customers, engages in public relations functions as requested and promotes Seneca Savings in communities we do business. Attends specific functions including Chamber of Commerce events, business shows, and networking events, etc. to promote the bank’s products. Primary focus is obtaining new commercial customer depository accounts and cross selling other products and services. Maintains and achieves goals as assigned.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties as assigned)
- Partners with Business Banker, Business Development Officer to offer Merchant Services to business owners, as well as partners with Branch Teams around referrals, outbound calling efforts, appointment setting.
- Calls on existing and potential new clients to sell Merchant Services, completing all necessary paperwork to open merchant services accounts. Introduces new clients to the appropriate bank representative to identify other sales opportunities.
- Maintains contact with existing merchant service clients for future sale opportunities.
- Completes Activation and Installation of POS/Terminal Hardware Solutions, as well as assists with selling and set-up of Remote Check Deposit.
- Update Pipeline/Sales Reports in a timely manner, as well as forward to direct supervisor timely.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Merchant Services Sales Representative does not require supervisory duties or authorities.
Qualification Standards:
- Must have a minimum of two years’ prior sales experience.
- One year of B2B experience in Merchant Services or other small business focused industry.
- Must have successfully built a book of business to leverage an existing network of referral prospects. Many of our top performing agents come from real estate, insurance, or other business-to-business environments.
- Must have exceptional ability to identify critical decision makers and professional consultive selling presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of Fiserv/First Data products and services, Clover POS customization and standard Terminal installation and activation.
- Ability to identify Ecommerce solutions being used and fact-finding skills on integration needs.
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
- Basic Equipment and Machinery: Basic personal computer skills that include the ability to send/receive e-mail messages, post information to a database or spreadsheet, and perform basic word processing, bookkeeping, and/or data entry. Ability to create spreadsheets, graphics, and reports using standard software applications.
- Ability to operate a computer, printer, scanner, copier, facsimile machine, telephone, adding machine, postage meter and calculator.
- Computer Software: Ability to utilize word-processing, excel spreadsheet and Adobe Acrobat.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this position, the Merchant Services Sales Representative is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
- The physical requirements of this position call for the ability to lift, move, push, pull, or otherwise exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing and analyzing data and figures, performing accounting duties, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading.
