Position Description
Basic Function: The Mental Health Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assists in patient care, monitoring, and treatment for geriatrics, adults, adolescents and children on the behavioral health units.
Position Requirements
Vocational or Technical training in Human Services or related field and 1 year or more of experience in a direct patient care setting or a high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and additional years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of minimum education requirement. Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Preferred Requirements
Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior Training (CPI) preferred, not required.
