Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Business Services and Palliative Care, oversees the daily functions of the Medical Services and Palliative Care Department. This position oversees palliative care intake operations, provider scheduling, telehealth monitoring, medical group banking, report management and cross training of staff to ensure quality and efficiency in day-to-day operations.

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30am-5:00pm
Hourly: $28.00 - $31.50 Subject to experience and qualifications.

The Elizabeth Hospice is San Diego’s oldest non-profit hospice of 40 years. We are growing and looking for talented individuals to join our high performing team and support our mission. We serve all of San Diego county and south Riverside county with multiple hospice office locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists the palliative care intake coordinator with insurance verification, referral management and communication with referral sources to ensure timely responses and action.
  • Assists the Director with provider meetings and communication.
  • Oversees palliative care medical records submission to community providers.
  • Monitors monthly provider revenue and submits reports to upper management for review
  • Oversees the medical group banking and processes banking transactions.
  • Submits monthly NP and MD revenue reports to upper management for processing
  • Assists with preparing correspondence and reports.
  • Oversees the provider scheduler function for hospice and palliative care
  • Runs the face-to-face report bi-monthly.
  • Oversees the palliative care telehealth program to include daily patient notifications
  • Consistently meets deadlines.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred or a minimum of 2-3 years related experience.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Front and back medical office experience preferred.
  • Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare and Medi-Cal desired.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in use of Word, Excel, hospice database and other Office Programs.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current driver’s license and proof of insurance
