The Medical Director is responsible for developing innovative approaches to delivering virtual and in-person clinical support to the surgical services,

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a culture of service, access, and accountability as a partner to a key clinical program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,

The Medical Director is responsible for coordinating, in conjunction with the Clinical Director of the Operating Room, the goals of the department and ensuring that the staff are working to meet those goals,

Must have the ability to create and execute new surgical policies and put new systems in place to contribute to the organization's overall success,

The role of this position is to research, plan, develop, implement and evaluate healthcare services, processes, access, and efficiencies for patients and others seeking services from the organization in a surgical capacity,

Ensure that the department is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations,

In Collaboration with the Clinical Director of the Operating Room, the Medical Director is responsible for:

1 Improve First Case on Time Start and Turnaround Time which includes creating a mechanism and process to hold physicians accountable for timeliness in regard to scheduled case times

2 Increase physician engagement and satisfaction

3 Partner with scheduling office to ensure accurate case times, and that appropriate locations and assignments are scheduled

4 Provide clinical and directional oversight for all Surgeon-on-Duty SOD members

5 Physician point of contact for conflict and dispute resolution

6 Responsible for physician discipline and enforcement , involving the creation of policies and pathways for noncompliance

7 Oversight of the class system; ensuring it is used appropriately and optimally for the best patient care

8 Act as a liaison for clinical decisions for all areas of perioperative services pre-op, intra-op, post-op

9 Accountable to maintain and ensure appropriate throughput in the Operating Room; will investigate instances of delays in order to streamline processes

10 Responsible for quality and performance improvement review; assist PI Coordinator with compliance, pathways and other clinical demands as needed

11 Ad hoc assignments and tasks as directed by the Vice President of Perioperative Services

12 Accountable for achievement of the following goals/metrics on a yearly basis:
