The North Providence School Department is seeking to hire a certified Math Interventionist.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Adheres to the policies and related directives of the North Providence School Department, state of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Department of Education.2. Contributes to the development of the total philosophy of education.3. Maintains open lines of communication with other personnel.4.

Skillfully support student learning of grades 6 - 8 mathematics content and practice standards.5. Empower a diverse group of learners through individualized and small group math instruction, guided by District curriculum maps and using research-based resources recommended by the mathematics department and informed by the data.6. Identify unique student needs and collaborate with team members to effectively address those needs and improve instructional practice.7. Guide students in using mathematics software and other technology to support instruction, when appropriate.8.

Incorporate a variety of assessment tools and strategies in order to inform and modify instruction, as well as target intervention and enrichment needs.9. Participate in team meetings with grade level colleagues as assigned.10. Participate in District-wide Interventionist meetings to collaborate and engage in professional learning.11. Participate in school and department meetings.12.

Partner with families to include them in each students learning and development, guided by a profound understanding of the importance of this connection.13. Takes responsibility for personal and professional growth.14.
