Primary Purpose:
Responsible for increasing the revenue and improving the contribution of their assigned business segment by establishing pricing policies that ensure that NS pricing is competitive and compensatory

Principal Duties:
  • Drives the development and implementation of pricing actions that support the strategic direction of the business segment.
  • Interacts with the Cost department to ensure a complete understanding of the drivers for each business segment in order to develop effective pricing.
  • Establishes pricing policies that ensure NS pricing is competitive and compensatory.
  • Monitors the competitive environment to understand the impact of price decisions.
  • Reviews and approves rates proposed by the Marketing teams prior to publication and presentation to customer.
  • Interacts with NS Sales, other Class I railroads, and NS customers to ensure NS is competitively positioned in the marketplace.
  • Manages a direct report.
Job Related Experience:
Minimum Level: 1-2 years Preferred Level: 3-5 years

Education:
Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (MBA, BS). Preferred Majors: Business
