The Senior Delivery Manager is responsible for delivery of product, initiative, and/or platform teams. The associate will have direct responsibility for ceremonies/rituals, stakeholder communication, resource allocation, budget, and metrics, if applicable. The Sr. Delivery Mgr is responsible for guiding product/initiative teams, removing obstacles, gaining consensus, and providing positive and developmental feedback. The associate proactively seeks to improve processes, procedures, tools, and methodology. This associate will play an active role in training and mentoring junior delivery managers. Product/Initiative outcomes, team engagement, and customer satisfaction will be a key metric for measuring success.
BRIEF SUMMARY:
The Manager, Delivery Management plays a critical role in operationalizing and delivering on CarMax's top strategic priorities. The Manager is responsible for leading managing cross functional multi-team strategic efforts for CarMax that span across the Product, Technology, and Operational organizations from discovery through delivery. In this role at CarMax, the Manager's focus is on the strategic questions "how?" and "when?" to improve the decision-making process and make the downstream work of all teams smoother and more efficient. As such, the associate will be responsible for daily program management throughout the program lifecycle. This includes: defining & managing the program governance and rituals, facilitating the planning process, monitoring the progress of the program and managing risks, coordinating and communicating to address dependencies, managing team and stakeholder communication, aligning deliverables, and managing the primary program documents. This role will work closely with program leadership while also supporting the Delivery Managers embedded within Product teams aligned to the Program.

Work Location and Arrangement : Work location is flexible if within 100 miles of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center or Dallas Technology Hub or Atlanta, GA CarMax Auto Finance Office if approved by the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily management throughout Delivery Management's lifecycle
Develop strong working relationship with Product leaders and members- Define & manage the program governance and rituals
- Facilitate planning & alignment process, including long term strategic planning & quarterly OKR planning
- Facilitate workshops & resource planning as required to enable teams to meet objectives
- Act as a communication hub, coordinating and communicating with program team members and stakeholders
Document and report on program progress and health- Identify & manage risks, issues, and dependencies, taking corrective measures or driving toward resolution when required
- Align deliverables to the program objectives and manage/maintain primary program documents
- Maintaining alignment of team-level objectives and supporting Delivery Managers

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of business experience in management consulting or strategic program management
- Undergraduate degree in a business discipline or similar field with excellent academic record; advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Agile, Lean, Scrum, or Kanban is a plus
