Job Title: Maintenance Operator - HIAM
Job Description (Essential Function):
The HIAM Maintenance Operator must understand key compliance objectives. Participation is required in monthly safety meetings. Various reports (Soar Objectives & Action plans) will be required. This role must actively participate in all compliance training. Must be knowledgeable in the following: Safe Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Energy Control (LOTO), and PPE. Must strive to achieve quality yields by focusing on maintaining a quality product and minimizing waste and overall quality. Achieve availability by proper interaction and routine inspection and cleaning of the process, achieve budget cost by controlling maintenance and supplies spending, and support initiatives that reduce utility costs.
General Job Description:
· Resolve problems encountered during shift to keep with production with minimal assistance from immediate colleagues, including equipment problems for which he / she has been trained
· Enlist and assist additional plant resources as necessary to resolve issues, planned maintenance outages and equipment failures.
· Use SAP to Generate Quality Work Notifications
· Perform Operator Assisted Maintenance (OAM) tasks which are scheduled for which the candidate has been properly trained, following all Safety procedures and Maintenance best practices
· Monitor all functions of the Spinning and Stretching process and maintain all production systems to the current Standard Operating Conditions. When abnormal conditions arise, must be able to troubleshoot the process and take the appropriate preventative and corrective actions to SAFELY bring the process back to target. In addition, the Maintenance Operator performs routine and non-routine maintenance that will keep the polymer making process at the highest quality standard.
· Understand the process safety procedures and know how and when to correctly respond to events.
- Able to safely and efficiently shut down and restart Spinning and Stretching process equipment.
- Assist Operations in any way as deemed needed by Production Supervisor
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the process and material flows.
- Know how to accurately respond/troubleshoot process upsets.
- Be able to correctly conduct area audits and communicate with supervisors about any issues.
- Be able to safely perform all routine and non-routine jobs in the Spin / Stretch areas.
- Understand how basic field instruments function, and how they are likely to fail. I.e., pressure, temperature, level indicators
- Can effectively communicate process issues through e-mail, conversation, and drawings.
· Use SAP to update notifications and work orders (enter time, write work orders, confirm work orders, document RCFA, locate supply station materials)
· Perform work in compliance with piping and gasket standards.
· Able to locate equipment, identify specific bearings and valves, and troubleshoot for hydraulic leaks.
· Able to safely change rollers, pumps, belts, valves, and smaller motors.
· Knowledgeable of Area PMs and able to safely perform specified tasks.
· Perform equipment alignments when needed.
· Ability to effectively use tools safely and accurately (Shop equipment, Hand tools, Torque Wrench, Power Tools, and Grinding tools).
Education Requirement:
· 2-year associate degree in maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or Machine Tool Technology
