Summary:
A precision manufacturer in the aerospace industry is looking to hire a Plant Manager in Deerfield Beach, FL. This position is responsible for leading a machine shop team on the operation of CNC (3 & 5 axis), EDM, lathe and manual machines to create products for commercial, military and aerospace customers to exceed requirements for quality and timeliness.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing machinist and programmers on production of Aerospace parts and components
• ERP management and execution (ERP - JobBoss2)
• Primary liaison between supply chain and manufacturing divisions
• Create and sustain new and existing production efforts
• Review and translate engineering drawings
• Manage machining techniques and processes
• Plan, manage and execute workflow procedures
• Training of skills and competencies to perform precision machining
• Safety and loss prevention management
• Troubleshooting and repair of machinery
• Assist the purchasing department in the acquisition of repair parts, raw materials and supporting items as needed

Requirements:

• Experience with CNC machining and metal shop fabrication equipment, as well as the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications to improve operations.
• Education and/or Experience: High School or GED required. College or professional certification desired.
• Experience with (GDT) Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Manufacturing engineering related experience a plus; or a level of education that, together with experience and training, enables the applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge and experience.
• Aerospace manufacturing working environment.
• Thorough knowledge of a machine shop and manufacturing processes
• Reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings and work order instructions
• Proficient in the use of measuring equipment and gages and vision system inspection equipment
• Strong math skills (e.g. shop math, basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry)
• Ability to read CMM reports and make adequate adjustment/offsets to get product back to nominal

Preferred:

• 5+ years of experience managing a machine shop preferred
• ERP management experience preferred
• Formal business training or education, a plus.
