Mathis Law, PLLC is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our growing transportation and business law practice. This position will assist with all areas of the Firm’s practice, including transportation and logistics law, regulatory compliance, business law, employment matters, insurance law, and general civil litigation. Salary is commensurate with experience.

This is a full time, 100% remote position. Applicants must have access to office space that they can use daily to work remotely. The Firm will cover the cost of work-related hardware, software, and supplies. Please note that the home office must be a private setting where confidential work can be completed without distractions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review legal documents
• Assist in drafting and organizing documents, and filing litigation and trial pleadings and motions
• Conduct desk research, including background and analogous research
• Organize, index, and track files
• Provide administrative support and organization for legal team
• Other support tasks as they arise

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Florida resident
• At least 2 years of Paralegal experience in Florida
• At least 2 years of experience working with legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw)
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Paralegal experience at all stages of litigation including, depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, drafting of motions and pleadings, and requests for discovery

Preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Associate’s Degree / Paralegal Certificate
• Residing in Central or South Florida area
