Our company is hiring for a Linux Administrator with experience in Puppet Administration for one of our key clients to oversee platform availability, stability, monitoring, performance, dashboard development, data migrations, data ingestion and ETL processes.

We are seeking someone experienced and proficient in various operations and application technologies and have strong problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for application operations and monitoring, logging tools, DevOps Technologies, Capacity Planning, Data Integration, Data Warehouse ETL, Big Data, Cloud Computing, BI, Containerization, Database administration, applications infrastructure.

Preferred Skills include: Elk Stack, MS Windows Azure Storage BLO, Identity Management, Jupyter, GIT, Docker, Jenkins. Kubernetes, Tableau, Python, Apache Spark, AWS, Azure, Kafka, R Studio, SQL, Relational DB, Microservices, PowerBI, and more.

Education and Experience Required:

Expert Linux Administration skills
At least 1+ year of Puppet Administration experience

Intermediate to expert Windows administration skills

Intermediate to expert experience

Big data analytics platforms and systems

Distributed processing frameworks

Microservice architectures and REST APIs

ETL tools and streaming services

Cloud computing technology and concepts

Business intelligence and data visualization tools

Container operations and orchestration

Relational databases

CI/CD tools, Infrastructure as Code and configuration management

Scripting languages and automation tools

DevOps culture, principles and practices

Systematic problem-solving approach

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently, as a member of a distributed team, and with cross-functional groups

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

Preferred skills:

Ability to debug and optimize code
Experience with several of the following
Dremio, Spark, Python, R, SnapLogic, Kafka, Azure, AWS, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Git, Jupyter, Relational Databases, WASB
Familiarity with ELK / Elastic Stack or similar monitoring tools
Experience with Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
Experience with developing the complete application stack inclusive of software engineering and systems engineering responsibilities (e.g. full-stack development)
Requirement gathering, validation, fulfillment and change management Infrastructure operations experience including self-healing autonomy
Experience working in 24x365 environments
Experience collaborating with global teams
Experience working in an on-call rotation

Additional Skills:

Displaying the ability to provide operations support for an enterprise wide Linux environment as well as write Puppet manifest files (ruby) and understand/modify existing manifests from other developers;
Possessing knowledge of Puppet backend infrastructure (MoM, DB, CM), and all facets of console administration;
Understanding of and commitment to ITIL processes and standards and SDLC stages
Ensuring that Puppet is always available and reliable and able to support Global Hosting Services (GHS) SLAs;
Establishing that adequate Puppet capacity, licenses and performance is available to meet projected demand while balancing cost against recovery;
Working with third-party service providers to establish quality and consistent delivery of service to published SLAs;
Working with Asset and Configuration Management across the Global Hosting Service;
Maintaining compliance with Change Control Processes and adhering to standards and documentation;
Monitoring Service Desk systems (ServiceNow) and responding to issues that have been escalated to the GHS that are Puppet or configuration related;
Working with other GHS Operations teams to establish an IT Continuity plan for Puppet and that it is tested annually;
Collating data and distributing daily and monthly operational reports as required;
Taking responsibility for awareness and compliance with all aspects relating to policy and guidelines of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), including but not limited to the Information Security Policy (ISP)
Creating, adopting and staying compliant with all processes and procedures relating to server technology and facilities to maintain certifications such as SOC-2 and BSI 27001;
Performing all related job functions following established processes and procedures in order to preserve the confidentiality of information hosted and managed by the client from unauthorized disclosure;
Protecting the integrity of information from unauthorized or accidental modification, and protecting the accuracy and completeness of this information; and,
Reporting any (known or suspected) breach in information security or policies.
