Job Summary

The Business Librarian supports the University goals to be excellent in inter-disciplinary research and graduate highly educated individuals at all degree levels. Working under the leadership of the Research Services Team Lead, position responsibilities include the following:
- Provide effective delivery of business research instruction at all levels of the curriculum.
- Conduct consultations with students, staff, and faculty in-person and virtually.
- Engage in academic outreach to the Lubar College of Business, the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, assigned departments and research centers with an opportunity to creatively engage students across disciplines.
- Contribute to programming to educate graduate students and faculty on established and emerging practices in scholarly communication.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison to business, economics, non-profit management, and related disciplines and/or other campus units providing information on collections, instructional and research support, and library services.
- Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with business information vendors and professional colleagues.
- Obtains materials, resolves issues, and answers questions that are complex and highly specialized in nature.
- Designs, develops, delivers, and assesses instruction in a variety of formats to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons.
- Provides specialized services utilizing a high level of expertise in business, economics, non-profit management, and related disciplines (data literacy and management, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy)
- Initiates and solicits input to modify policies, procedures, and assessment tools to improve workflows and/or user experiences.
- Serves on committees to advance business librarianship at the campus, local, and/or state and national levels.
- May direct the day-to-day activities of student workers.
- Partners with faculty and library acquisitions to develop, curate, and manage business resources.

- Full time appointment. This position requires work to be performed in-person, onsite, at the Golda Meir Library with flexibility for telecommuting up to 2 days a week, after a successful onboarding period.
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution
- Experience conducting literature and data searches in company, industry, and marketing databases
- Evidence of experience teaching business research skills and/or commitment to build knowledge of information literacy, theory, and practice in order to teach.
- Capacity to provide advanced business subject research assistance.
- Degree, course work, or equivalent experience in business, economics, executive leadership, or a discipline related to the position.
