Job Summary
The Leave Analyst will develop a process to track and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws. The Leave Analyst manage the relationship with FMLA source, develop a tracking and monitoring process for the Americans with Disabilities Act, will provide education on all leaves.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the FMLA leave administration process from employees’ initial notice of the need for leave to the employees’ return to work. Will partner with our FMLA vendor, FMLA Source throughout the leave process. . This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Advise and coach managers on leave policies and processes and engage with employees in the interactive process concerning reasonable accommodations.
- Facilitates other leave requests, which will include accommodation requests under the ADA.
- Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
- Monitors key processes, identifies risks/issues, and coordinates with the applicable resources to resolve.
- Identifies and develops continuous improvement solutions that create efficiency and improve the employee and manager experience related to leaves of absence.
- Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including FMA, ADA and state and local laws.
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers compensation, or other leave(s).
- Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
- Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.

Qualifications:
Education Required:
- High School Diploma
Education Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in related field
Experience Required:
- Two years of human resources experience specifically experience with leaves of absence (required)
Experience Preferred:
- Five years of human resources experience
Certifications Preferred:
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (preferred)
- Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration is a plus.
