Compensation: Commensurate with expeirence starting at $17 hourly

We are hiring a Laundry Team Leader to support our gated retirement community. This position supervises the day-to-day activities of the laundry areas according to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility.

How you will make an impact:

  • Assure that the Care Center laundry is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary manner and that all adequate supply of clean linen is on-hand at all times to meet the needs of residents/patients.
  • Prepare the daily laundry work assignments, scheduling to include established routine duties to the laundry staff, adequate cover for employees out for vacation or extended sick leave. Filling in when necessary for lack of staff.
  • Follow shift schedules for the delivery of clean linens as closely as possible and laundry tasks are completed in a timely manner, assuring that the laundry areas are maintained in a clean, safe manner (Wear safety lift belts at all times).
  • Train new employees and assigning tasks, closely monitoring them until fully trained.
  • Keep personnel records, lateness, absenteeism, reviews, and evaluates job performance.
  • Assure the infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when working in the laundry area.

What you will need:

  • High School/GED is required.
  • Certificate or technical courses in hospital, nursing home, industrial or institutional. Able to perform basic arithmetic and follow written and oral communication.
  • 2-3 years of experience is preferred. Clerical ability to keep records and evaluate work performance and basic cleaning skills
  • Contact with residents/patients, families, and employees. This requires effective oral and written communication.
