Under the direct supervision of the Campground Manager, the Campground Maintenance team member is responsible for the basic maintenance of Campground facilities including cabins, the camp store, and grounds. This position will report to the Campground Manager from April - November, and then to the Director of Maintenance in the off-season. This is a full-time position.

Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Campground Manager, the Campground Maintenance team member is responsible for the basic maintenance of Campground facilities including cabins, the camp store, and grounds. This position will report to the Campground Manager from April - November, and then to the Director of Maintenance in the off-season. This is a full-time position.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Main duties include repairing plumbing systems, fixing equipment or tools and testing various appliances and equipment to ensure they work properly

• Repair equipment problems by repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions on campground equipment, replacing parts and components, using hand and power tools, jacks, hoists, etc.

• Assess maintenance needs on equipment and provide management with repair information

• Assist with watering, weed whacking, pruning, and lawn mowing, removal of trash and trees

• Assist in site preparation, plantings (all plant types – from large trees to small annuals), mulch and topsoil application, loading and unloading materials and tools and hauling equipment

• Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests

• Transfer into Maintenance department in the off-season to assist

• Other duties as assigned to support the park

Qualifications:

• Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred

• Some technical knowledge of basic equipment necessary

• Must be able to remain focused on the job while dealing with interruptions from guest contact

• Must be able to operate necessary equipment and make repairs following the company’s policies and procedures

• Must have good problem-solving and communication skills

• Must be willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management

• Must be willing to work in a cross departmental position when needed

Working Conditions:

• Requires standing for long periods and walking long distances

• Exposure to the variable outside and inside temperatures, including high heat and cold temperatures

• Exposure to high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment

• Must be able to carry, push, pull, lift, hold objects weighing up to 50 pounds
