Summary:
The Laboratory Technician II will work in one of two process research operations groups, where work can vary from benchtop wet chemistry testing of various catalysts to developing and characterizing these catalysts using analytical laboratory techniques. These techniques include GC, MS, density, etc. Autoclaving is also involved.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7AM – 330PMEST – flexibility is available for scheduling (Occasional OT weekdays and weekends – flexibility is highly desired)
Duration: 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension
Pay: $33/hr but can be higher or lower depending on experience level

Job Responsibilities:
- Support/assist the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance/control.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance/control issues.
- Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards.
- Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or related field OR Associates/polytechnic degree in chemical/process/technical engineering preferred but not required; equivalent and adequate experience will also be considered in lieu of education
- Willingness to be trained
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures
- Technical and mechanical aptitude
- Critical thinking, proactiveness, and safety-oriented
- Willingness to learn and ask questions
- Great written and verbal communication
- Computer literate
- LabView or other relevant laboratory systems experience preferred
- Basic Microsoft Office applications experience, such as Word and Excel
