Family hospital in Central Iowa has a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Lab Manager to join their team! Great benefits, flexible scheduling, and cross-training opportunities!

Pay Range: $79,809 - $100,630 DOE

Lab Manager Responsibilities:

• Managing laboratory staff: The lab manager is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising laboratory technicians and assistants.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment: The lab manager ensures that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, and that any repairs or replacements are made as needed.
• Ordering laboratory supplies: The lab manager is responsible for ordering and maintaining an adequate supply of all laboratory materials, including chemicals, reagents, and laboratory consumables.
• Ensuring laboratory safety: The lab manager is responsible for ensuring that all laboratory staff and visitors are following proper safety procedures, and that all hazardous materials are stored and handled properly.
• Developing and implementing laboratory protocols: The lab manager works with laboratory staff to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory experiments and procedures.

Lab Manager Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of laboratory experience in a High-Complexity setting required; advanced degree in healthcare field preferred
• MT (ASCP) certification preferred
• One to two years management experience preferred
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Demonstrate ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects
