Ozark Natural Foods Co-op is hiring kitchen staff for our upscale natural foods retail grocery store. If you have a passion for cooking, we may be the perfect fit for you.

Our production is mostly commercial level made from scratch large batch cooking. We do not make any food to order, which allows our staff time and attention to focus on creating our grab and go menu items, maintain our salad bar, make pizzas and dinner options. We focus on natural and organic ingredients, and most of our recipes are created in large volume batches. Staff must be able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently during the shift and read and follow recipes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

FOOD PREPARATION:

• Prepare deli offerings following specifications of Manager.
• Work through assigned prep & production lists in order of priority.
• Follow proper rotation practices.
• Follow all health department guidelines for food service.
• Demonstrate awareness of physical working environment.

DEPARTMENT MAINTENANCE:

• Pull old or low-quality items for the supervisor to record.
• Maintain kitchen in sanitary and orderly condition, following guidelines set by Manager.
• Clean up spills, take out trash, recycling as needed.
• Follow safety, storage and labeling procedures.
• Report equipment repair and replacement needs.
• Participate in periodic inventory counts.
• Check in with supervisor for assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Foodservice experiences.
• Organized, attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment.
• Regular, predictable attendance

Reports to Kitchen Supervisor, Kitchen Assistant Manager, Kitchen Manager

30-40 hours per week
