Uncle D’s, a restaurant in Roanoke, is hiring kitchen prep cooks at $17/hour. The schedule will be discussed during interviews but our restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. We have several openings within that timeframe. We are closed on Sunday.

Uncle D’s offers homestyle, southern favorites along with Italian classics. We are located in the Oak Grove area of Roanoke at 2016 Electric Road in Southwest Plaza. We are in between Food Lion and Ichiban, right next door to the UPS Store.

About this position’s duties:

• Kitchen prep cooks assist the kitchen manager and owner in preparing food and cooking items to order.
• This person will help with kitchen efficiency by washing prep dishes and utensils. We are a take-out restaurant so there are no plates, bowls or cutlery to wash.
• Kitchen helpers keep a clean workspace and regularly clean surfaces, do dishes as needed, clean kitchen tools and equipment, and sweep and mop floors.
• Our kitchen crew is expected to prepare food products at the highest level and regularly clean and sanitize the work area.
