Janitor – to keep our facility safe, clean, and functional so fellow employees can perform their work and to make a positive impression for guests and visitors.

The successful candidate will have an energetic and positive attitude with a pro-active approach as they take pride in the appearance and condition of our new facility.

The work will consistently bring them in contact with everyone who visits or works in our facility. Therefore, it is imperative to be respectful of their time and work duties, as they will be for yours. Other essential qualities include being a self-starter, able to work on their own, follow our SOPs, prioritize duties, and have a sense of urgency to respond to pressing needs.

Certor Sports has some of the most iconic performance and sports brands in the country, including Schutt and VICIS, whose helmets are currently ranked first by both the NFL and Virginia Tech University’s Helmet Lab. Our innovative and cutting edge head-to-toe protective equipment is used for football, baseball, lacrosse, and hockey as we protect everyone from the Pros to Pee-wees.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

• Perform all duties in a safe manner for yourself and others. Wear PPE when required or necessary.
• Keep the facility clean and tidy with minimal interference in the work.
• Clean and maintain the bathrooms, keeping them properly stocked. Clean according to an SOP schedule or when necessary.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, dust, and generally clean all the office areas, including hallways and conference rooms. Includes front offices and those in the production area.
• Clean office windows, inside and out regularly as scheduled.
• Empty trash and garbage containers daily.
• Communicate any repairs of the facility, equipment, bathroom toilet, sinks, etc. to supervisor and department heads if necessary. Make repairs when able and necessary.
• Be a team player and respectful of fellow employees. Perform duties to be minimally intrusive to the work of others. Communicate and seek the cooperation of others when interference is necessary.
• Be responsive to special requests, especially for spills, accidents, events, etc.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs when required.
• Monitor stock levels of supplies and communicate when low.

Requirements:

• Be able to use office and industrial cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Work well with others, understanding that everyone here has a job to do, and this position will require you to interact with most of your fellow employees.
• Learn, understand, and practice the safe handling and disposal of any hazardous materials.
• Possess the ability to follow directions, SOPs, and verbal instructions.
