ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage Assigned staff of Server and Network Admins
  • Provide a leadership example to Team members and provide feedback, training plans and motivation to drive overall performance improvement in IT service delivery.
  • Create annual objectives , performance reviews, and other related management of direct report employees.
  • Plan and implement server and network designs while assuring system performance and server protection.
  • Provide hands on expertise in either Networking and/or Server support which may require project implementation and/or support responsibilities.
  • Work with Sr. Manager - IT and relevant Development leaders, recommend enhancements to network and server design and interface with Octapharma technology leaders, and provide service improvements that result in improved Donor Center stability and performance
  • Define, develop, and manage external technology vendor relationships and billing.
  • Manage Telecom relationships.
  • Manage IT network and server assets and maintenance/service agreements.
  • Implement best practices in assigned areas and ensure that all core IT functions are fully documented, supportable, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure systems are kept at current software levels and evaluate the costs/benefits of upgrades for software and/or operating systems.
  • Monitor and maintain overall network/infrastructure health and performance.
  • Perform performance reporting on both Network and Windows server systems.
  • Support integration of new businesses in both planning and field work.
  • Able to develop procedures and/or execute procurement and/or installation of IT equipment for remote plasma donation centers (VOIP, routers, switches, wireless, etc.).
  • Provide assistance in the evaluation of vendor and/or service providers through development of RFI/RFP, analysis of results, vendor interviews, and pilot programs.
  • Lead or assign resources for equipment installation of server or network equipment or the installation of software. Thorough end to end knowledge of donor center technology and troubleshooting and provides guidance to less experienced employees.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new tools and may lead projects to implement new tools or upgrades to existing tools. May direct the activities of other associates on project assignments.
  • Ensure routine reporting and analysis of network information and performs root cause analysis of recurring problems.
  • Provide proceduralization of IT processes and ensures regulatory compliance of the teams and also provides analysis of existing process to streamline and improve.
  • Is able to develop, report, and analyze Service Level Objectives under the direction of the Sr. Manager - IT.
  • Provide IT operations support, which may include: collecting and reporting performance data, outage data, review of error logs and backup logs, and other monitoring as assigned and can provide assessment of results and recommendations for improvement.
  • Research, design, implement, and documents best practices in infrastructure maintenance and support.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field of study, or equivalent industry qualifications.
  • Experience leading infrastructure teams in a comparable environment.
  • Exposure to a Windows Server/Active Directory environment.
  • Exposure to distributed networks which include both central data centers and a large number of remote locations.
  • Advanced knowledge of IP, OSI model, MPLS, VLANs, VOIP, QoS, and other networking fundamentals.
  • Experience in an FDA, GxP environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management, timelines, task prioritization and on-time execution.
  • Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures on complex projects.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to changing priorities.
  • Will be required to work outside of Normal Business hours, primarily in the event of an emergency or implementation of new systems/upgrades, which will need to be done after hours.
  • On-call support that may involve night or weekend coverage as assigned.
  • Performance management of direct reports.
  • Microsoft or Cisco certifications preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to view video display terminal images for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to forty (40) pounds.
  • Ability to physically operate a computer keyboard, calculator and multi-line telephone system.
  • Ability to travel via automobile and/or airplane.
