Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 10 Distributive Learning Classrooms, located throughout the New Mexico Army Nation Guard, consisting of approximately 170 workstations.
How does it get done?
Personnel will routinely travel to the 10 Distributive Learning Classrooms throughout the New Mexico Arm National Guard in order to setup and monitor classroom utilization. Personnel are also responsible for updating all computers and servers in the classrooms.
Who are the customers?
Department of Military Affairs management and staff, New Mexico National Guard personnel, and New Mexico state employees.
Ideal Candidate
Experience providing technical support to end-users; Security Plus certification is required within 6 months upon hire.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network related problems. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Security Plus certification is required within 6 months upon hire. Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to VisualNideo Display Terminal (VDn; requires sitting in front of VDT for extended periods of time; work in cramped spaces and positions; close exposure to CRTs, VDT's and UV rays. Stress associated with working in a high-ticket volume environment, being able to deal with the constant traffic of user problems and system breakdowns. Requires the ability to reach above the head; lift up to 50 pounds. Requires the use of manual dexterity while operating a computer keyboard.
