Currently under construction, the golf club will feature two championship golf courses, a 10-hole short course, a two-acre putting course and a 37-acre practice facility. The Omni PGA Frisco Golf Club is seeking an Irrigation Technician. The Irrigation Technician will report to the Managing Superintendent of Golf Courses and Grounds. This individual is responsible for assisting the Irrigation Foreman with the programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system, which is inclusive of pump station, controllers, in ground, computers and hand-held units.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains two wire irrigation system in optimum operating condition.
- Continuously monitors irrigation heads for effective watering, making necessary adjustments physically and in control.
- Changes or cleans all filters in the pump stations as needed.
- Maintains all pumps and pump station components
- Works with foreman to competently repair the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed.
- Ensures a safe working environment.
- Keeps up-to-date reports w/pump station readings, well readings, and rain reports and manages annual/semi-annual pump preventative maintenance service.
- Two to four year certificate from a college or technical school is preferred; or two to four year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License, maintains ongoing education in irrigation system management and agronomic implications.
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
