Contacts insurance companies to determine pre-certification, pre-authorization and/or medical necessity requirements for outpatient Radiology Procedures. Obtains cost estimate for ordered procedure and communicates financial responsibly to patient. Works closely with physicians and physician office staff when needed to obtain additional clinical information. Apply critical thinking skills to identify and resolve opportunities to avoid a denial from payers or the insurance companies to maximize reimbursement. Schedules diagnostic tests for assigned physicians, consistent with patient needs and requests and physician preference. Coordinates and schedules appointments for MRIs and follow up appointments ordered by the physician.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5 years Healthcare Experience
• Knowledge of medical insurance and medical terminology
• Experience with electronic medical record systems
• Knowledge of Epic preferred
• Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be detailed oriented
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
