Instructional Behavior Coach/Campus (anticipated)
Job description
Serve as a campus behavioral coach to support the development and improvement school wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), of classroom management, and behavioral interventions with students.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of PBIS at the school wide, classroom, and individual student level.
Knowledge of Tier I Best Practices in the area of Differentiated Instruction and PBIS as related to classroom and behavior management for all students.
Distribute current information on major trends and best practices to the campus in behavior for CISD students.
Demonstrate commitment to assisting teachers in improving classroom management through coaching cycles and ongoing support.
Model consistent instructional leadership to the highest level.
Work collaboratively with staff to create behavior plans for students.
Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth.
Work collaboratively with District departments to implement and further PBIS structures.
Take initiative with curriculum, instruction, and professional learning activities.
Problem solve in difficult situations.
Analyze campus data, as well as make provisions for aligned instructional strategies/interventions.
Model behavioral and/or best teaching practices in assigned content area.
Utilize the Branching Minds platform for individual students.
Work with at-risk and struggling students to raise their achievement level.
Regular attendance.
Maintain confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
- Three years of successful classroom teaching experience
Successful experience in working with students with behavioral challenges
Experience in delivering professional learning
Experience in a leadership role
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and grade levels assigned
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (must obtain within 30 days of hiring and maintain yearly certification)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of Tier I Best Practices in the area of Differentiated Instruction and PBIS as related to classroom and behavior management for all students
- Strong knowledge of strategies for at-risk students
- Ability to manage crisis situations
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and professional learning
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
