We are partnering with our client to assist in their effort to hire an Impact Research Analyst. Our client provides equity and debt financing to established and emerging companies located in communities underserved by conventional sources of capital. Since 1992, they have invested roughly $2.0 billion in companies from a diverse array of industry sectors including manufacturing, technology, business services and agribusiness, among others. They have built a strong and successful track record of raising and deploying investment funds in conjunction with state/federal economic development initiatives. The firm seeks investments that have the potential to generate both superior investment returns and meaningful community impact and uses this double bottom line approach to measure its success.

The Impact Research Analyst will support various sub-business lines, including supporting applications for governmental resources, raising capital, and guiding investment decisions. Much of this work involves the award-winning New Markets Tax Credit program, which has been recognized for its success in revitalizing economically distressed communities. You will have the opportunity to develop extensive knowledge of a variety of for-profit businesses and not-for-profit organizations, as well as various state and federal subsidy programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile insightful company, industry, and community impact data
  • Develop materials from research that attracts investors and public subsidies
  • Acquire knowledge and expertise around both traditional investment parameters and company-specific impact metrics
  • Conduct client interviews and industry outreach

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Community or Economic Development fields, or 1-3 years comparable work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in identifying next steps, intellectually curious, ability to focus on both details and the big picture
  • Interest in public policy and public-private investments
  • Reasonable computer skills, including formula proficiency in Excel, internet research, task organization management
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task, and flexibility to prioritize new opportunities as they arise
