Reading Specialist (1.0) Teacher

Ithan Elementary School

Job Summary:

The position is for a certified reading specialist who will provide literacy oversight and instructional reading support based on emergent student needs.

Qualifications:

• PA Reading Specialist Certification, required
• Master’s Degree, preferred
• Elementary experience, preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver targeted reading instruction.
• Collect and facilitate the review and use of literacy data to guide instruction and plan for student needs.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with PA state standards and research-based instructional practices.
• Assist with screening, evaluating, and intervention recommendations.
• Collaborate with staff to support learning within the MTSS framework.
• Lead and support school-wide literacy activities.
• Assist and support the development and coordination of the school reading program; selection of materials appropriate to age, interest, and ability of students; development and delivery of staff development programs for
• Participate in the construction and selection of literacy assessments.
• Maintain inventory of integrated language arts materials.
• Keep informed of current methods and materials in language arts instruction.
• Other duties, as assigned.
