Position Summary

The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual for the position of Ice Arena Guest Services Lead. Individuals in this position are responsible for the design, instruction, and oversight of programs and services, and/or the leadership and oversight of Recreation Attendants. This involves maintaining knowledge of specific methodologies or practices for appropriate participant/employee education and utilizing appropriate techniques and progressions in order to ensure a quality product. Ice Guest Service Leads have a combination of knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, certification, or licensure in order to teach skills and provide an appropriate level of leadership.

Individuals in this position are responsible for for providing excellent leadership of staff and guest service; greeting guests; conducting membership, pass and pro-shop sales; light custodial duties; ice maintenance; and providing information and explanation of services and programs offered by the Recreation Department. This position performs cash handling duties and conducts transactions with a computerized point of sale system, and also coordinates equipment needs, performs facility checks, and handles facility reservations. Ice Guest Service Leads works at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena and there are a variety of shifts, including daytime, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• One (1) or more years cash handling experience.
• One (1) or more years customer service experience.
• One (1) or more years of computer/point-of-sale (POS) experience.
• To qualify for this position the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check as described in the Recreation Department Criminal History Background Check & Confidentiality Policy.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

• Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• One (1) or more years of supervisory experience.
• One (1) or more years of customer service experience in a recreational setting.
• Ice maintenance and resurfacing experience preferred.
• Skate sharpening experience preferred.
• Ability to ice skate at an intermediate level or higher preferred.

Additional Information

Full Pay Range: $24.00-$31.50 per hour, $49,920-$65,520 if annualized
Hiring Pay Range: $24.00-$27.75 per hour, $49,920-$57,720 if annualized

Because the Town's Recreation Department positions may involve direct contact with children, the Town requires that the incumbent in this position must have a clear criminal history that bears on his or her fitness to have responsibility for the safety and well-being of children.

WORK SCHEDULE
Qualified applicants must be able to work shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays; 40 hours per week.
