JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Auxiliary & Business Services is seeking a Housing, Foods and Ancillary Services Manager 1.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate day-to-day operations in a housing and/or food service operation; may provide strategic planning input
- Hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, evaluate, and discipline assigned employees
- Develop and maintain an environment where both internal and external customers are a top priority
- Inspect facilities and products to comply with standards for safety, sanitation, and quality
- Responsible for financial success through cost containment and business growth
- Order inventory of food and/or operational supplies
- May assist with or manage special events, catering functions, and conferences
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Oversee maintenance of the facility and care of equipment
- May research, develop and market new products, menus, recipes, and concepts
- Assign student residence space as necessary; review space allocation and recommend fee changes
- Participate in departmental and University-wide initiatives and committees; serve as a liaison with other University departments
- May recommend policy changes and set standards to ensure consistency among all units
- May coordinate professional development programs and marketing initiatives
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1+ years related experience
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in hospitality, nutrition, or business-related discipline
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks .
