Job Summary: Essential Functions:

• Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks

• Complete room assignments and oversee staff on a daily basis

• Inspect guest rooms ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and product quality

• Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness

• Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence

• Lead daily stand up sessions for team focusing on ongoing training and service improvement

• Establish new procedures and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards

• Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job. Assist all housekeeping positions in the completion of their work

• Respond to customer complaints and special requests

• Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach and rubber gloves

• Work with hotel maintenance department on reporting any maintenance issues within the guest rooms and/or common areas

• Participate in large cleaning projects as required

• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas and ensure MSDS sheets are up to date.

Qualities and Skills:

• Attention to detail and knowledge of various cleaning chemicals.

• Skilled in leading high-performing teams and ability to delegate tasks to execute goals

• Passionate in cross training and yearns to master new challenges

• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form

• Be proactive in carrying out assigned responsibilities and displays a great sense of initiative

• Familiarity with general guest service standards and ability to train team on service standards

• Must be able to lift/push/pull/carry a minimum of 25 Ibs

• Must have good time management skills and able to prioritize tasks based on importance

• Able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time

Education and Experience:

• Experience: Preferred to have at least 1-2 years of prior experience as a housekeeping supervisor or inspector.

• Education: High school education is required.
