High Grade Salesperson
New York City
This role is regulated by FINRA.
As a Barclays High Grade Salesperson, you’ll be a junior salesperson in the New York office, working with the High-Grade Credit business. This is an exciting opportunity to support and assist with the day-to-day functions of the HG sales team, while training to become a full salesperson with direct client coverage in time. You’ll have the chance to interact with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders, including the Credit trading desk, clients of the firm, and various operational functions which keep the business going day to day.
Salary / Rate Minimum: $110,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $125,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

What will you be doing?
- Being primarily accountable to the management and team of the US HG salesforce
- Backing up and assisting two to three senior salespeople with day-to-day functions
- Collaborating with a broad group of stakeholders both internal and external to Barclays, including the Credit trading desk, clients of the firm, and various operational functions
- Partnering with Trading, Syndicate, Strategy, and Research to facilitate the buying/selling of securities with institutional investors
- Making quick decisions on imperfect information daily by nature of the role and market
- Developing comfort with making fast decisions and often making what turn out to be wrong, and being able to help with learning, and moving on
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics
- Familiarity with the Credit Trading business and Credit products
- Understanding of the Credit Sales and Trading lifecycle
- Experience with documentation associated with basic Credit Trade
