ATOMIC CITY is unique because it wasn’t just developed for kids, but rather for adults too! Thanks to the support of our community, we are continuing to expand our service offerings and have recently added a state-of-the-art bar inside our family fun center.
Therefore, we are currently searching for an experienced Bar Supervisor to join our growing team.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction, the Bar Supervisor helps make Social 360, the bar area within ATOMIC CITY, a comfortable and suitable place for customers. The incumbent is responsible for beverage control, accurate pours of product, general cleanliness of the bar, locking and securing of the bar area, and providing a quality service that meets customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets guests, takes orders, and prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and soft drinks as ordered.
- Ensures fruit and other garnishes are prepared prior to opening the bar.
- Maintains the bar area and keeps the environment clean and organized, ensuring proper safety measures.
- Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state liquor laws and applicable company policies.
- Ensures customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs and following Kentucky law and ATOMIC CITY procedures at all times.
- Collects money from customers for drinks prepared and/or food served.
- Promotes proper consumption, uses good judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
- Assists with ordering liquor, beer, wine, and other bar-related inventory.
- Meets with suppliers and vendors, ensuring prompt delivery of bar essentials.
- Keeps track of daily income and expenses of the bar.
- Ensures Social 360 personnel, such as bartenders and waitstaff, are well trained in their jobs.
- Understands and effectively trains others on the Point of Sale (POS) system and the Human Capital Management software.
- Responds to customer questions and complaints, troubleshooting problems with services or drink items as they arise.
- May be asked to collaborate with Owners and Management regarding advertising and publicity campaigns to ensure an increased customer base for Social 360.
- Demonstrates teamwork within the organization, taking initiative and using sound judgement.
- Displays a professional image, conduct, and Company reputation.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises, trains, schedules, motivates, leads, and disciplines (when necessary) all team members working in Social 360, such as bartenders, waitstaff/servers, and bussers.
- Collaborates with Management and/or HR Consultant to recruit and hire personnel for Social360.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND KEY COMPETENCIES
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4+ years of bartending experience with thorough knowledge of state specifications for running a bar in Kentucky.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Completion of the Server Training in Alcohol Regulations (S.T.A.R.) course.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Prior mixology or barkeeping-related training.
- Previous use and understanding of a cash register and Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Demonstrates an upbeat and professional image, maintaining a positive attitude with guests and Team Members.
- Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
- Adheres to Policies and Procedure set forth in the Handbook including Appearance Standards.
- Exceptional communications and problem-solving skills.
- Superior organizational skills and capable of multi-tasking daily.
- Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and maintains prompt and regular attendance.
- Willingness to work a fluctuating schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evenings, weekends, and some holiday shifts.
REQUIRED LICENSES, PHYSICAL ABILITIES, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a thorough criminal background check.
- Capable of lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, walk, and squat.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- The work environment includes flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, and loud noises.
- In addition to the essential job duties stated above, the ability to handle stressful situations and interact effectively with others, including guests and co-workers, are essential functions of the job.
